From birth and Baptism to Confirmation and beyond, the Advent supports and nurtures children and families in their Christian lives. Read on to learn more!
Nursery care is offered for infants during the 9 am service (and for infants and toddlers during the 11:15 am service), and for toddlers during the 9 am service. Special thanks to Boston's Best Babysitters for providing us with our professional caregivers. For more information, visit www.bbbabysitters.com.
Church
School happens every week after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Following Communion,
our Church School teachers meet all children ages 4 & up at the
rear of the church and head up to the third floor. The Church of the
Advent uses a Montessori-based curriculum called Godly Play. The goal
of Godly Play is to teach children the art of using religious language – parable,
sacred story, silence, and liturgical action – to help interpret
the events of their daily lives. Godly Play teachers tell Bible stories
using multi-sensory materials that encourage children to enter into
the stories and relate them to their personal experiences.
Beulah Land is a Church School class for infants and toddlers (up to three years old) and their caregivers. Besides singing and music, the Beulah Land curriculum is designed to help the very young and not so young develop a visual vocabulary of faith. So if you have an infant or toddler (or know someone who does), please be sure to join us on the fourth floor of the Parish Hall on Sundays at 10:20 AM and Wednesdays at 10 AM! Questions? Call/email
at 617-523-2377 x32.
